Redefining 24-Hour Home Care

 Most of us do not have any desire to spend the last chapter of our lives in a personal care home, yet 1 in 3 of us will. How do we change this? By turning conventional care models upside down!  We have found a model of care that is a hybrid between assisted living, supportive housing, and hospice care. This allows the individual to remain where they are comfortable until they take their last breath. Silver Lining Care has been in business since 2015 and has been successfully running this model of care since 2018 in Winkler.

Our Story

our family is probably much like yours. Through
the years we have found ourselves dealing with raising a
family, minor surgeries and health concerns, along with more
challenging times such as mental health concerns and times
when we thought our parents were no longer going to be
with us. Our parents pulled through those challenges and we
found ourselves in the sandwich generation, caring for our own
children as well as providing increasingly more support for our
parents. There came a time when we were told that our mom
needed to be placed in a personal care home. However, we as a
family wanted to do all we could to allow our parents to remain
in their home for as long as possible.

Our Story

Our family may be much like yours. Through the years we have found ourselves dealing with raising a family, minor surgeries and health concerns, along with more challenging times such as mental health concerns. Our parents pulled through those challenges and we found ourselves in the sandwich generation, caring for our own children as well as providing increasingly more support for our parents. There came a time when we were told that our mom needed to be placed in a personal care home. However, we as a family wanted to do all we could to allow our parents to remain in their home for as long as possible.

This journey eventually led us to the Family Managed Care program available through the Regional Health Authority. We hired staff and developed an amazing team of caregivers that feels like part of our family. They administer medications and take care of housekeeping, grocery shopping, blood work appointments, meal prep, and outings. Seeing the way they love and care for our parents is such a huge blessing to us.

Three years later, Silver Lining Care was born to provide much needed services for Steinbach and Southeast Manitoba. Our faith in God is a legacy that our parents have passed on to us and we want to serve Him and our community in this way.

We are family. Caring for our community by bringing hope, life, and joy to your home.
